I've failed at this Project and never really cared. But since I don't post much now adays anyway, might as well continue putting up the few pics I do take :)
I don't know why I don't post much anymore. Maybe because I don't really do much. I'm trying to bring myself to sew new things, but I haven't really gotten inspired. I'm working on it though. I have a few projects that are over half done, so maybe some pics of those soon? I watched some new bollywood movies ages and ages ago, I should probably post about those as well. I guess I'm back into a groove since moving, but it is much less productive than before. Maybe I'll make an end of (Chinese) New Years resolution? Maybe I will.
Just some little apple tarts I made. I had too much time and too much fun decorating the tops :P
I couldn't help myself. I'm sure I did other things this day, but I had to take a picture of my MaoXiong (Mao Mao, my cat) next to my XiongMao (panda) :)
For those who don't know the story, my sister came to visit me
at the end of my stay in China. She was telling me about some
new born stray kittens she rescued (along with the mama)
from behind her work. She had names for the others (Yuki, Japanese for
snow for the white one, and Dorian for the grey one, get it? Dorian
the Grey? I loved it :P) but not for the black and white one.
She said it looks like a reversed panda, so I said, how about MaoXiong?
Which is the Chinese word for Panda (Xiong-bear Mao-cat) backwards.
And since pandas have nicknames, she became 'Mao mao'. Which, unoriginally, just means 'cat cat' but it is the thought that counts, lol.
I took both these pics yesterday. Rather than lying about the date to fill in the days I missed, I'll just put them up. I liked them. This is just a crow on a tree with the moon, but I liked the way it turned out. Texas trees are so creepy without leaves, just so malformed and knobby.
Yesterday, my mom, sister, and I went to an upholstery fabric shop (more like warehouse, the place was massive) to look for fabrics to reupholster the houses chairs with so we don't have to buy new chairs. Found tons of fabrics, lots of color, patterns, etc, and then ended up finding the fabric in the last couple minutes totally different than what we had been looking at. Isn't that how it goes though? We spent hours there, and it, for some reason, really tired me out. I was dead last night. Maybe my body trying to heal the blisters I got on my feet from wearing awful shoes? Or maybe it just being annoyed at the fact that it was 75F yesterday. Either way, I collapsed. We are going back today, we are bringing the chair back there to get recovered in the bottom fabric (colours are a bit off in the pictures). We spent half the night afterwards fighting about what colours to do the rooms in, other fabrics, furniture we have to buy, etc. It was exhausting.
That's all for now. We have to go back to the shop today to bring the chair in and I have to get ready. *am and already 63 out. I love Texas -_-

Went to some furniture stores before going to see Benjamin Button with my mom, sister, and her boy. Found the first new piece of furniture for my parent's new place! It is going to look fantastic in there. The place was going out of business and everything was super cheap! Well, as super cheap as high end furniture can get. $700 for this chair, was originally $2000. The cat is already attached to it, as you can see.

I realised yesterday that it was the Chinese New Year and hadn't done anything for it, so I made this paper cut to put on my door :) Also made some Suan La Tang from scratch for lunch. Delicious comfort food, made me miss China, but I was also glad that I can make something that tastes so authentic. I also put MSG in it, but don't tell my mother, she ate some too, lol.

Lunch :) I made the Pepporonata Sandwich (sp?) the day before (mm, leftovers) and made the mushroom risotto fresh for lunch. It was delicious :) That risotto is very time consuming to make! Both were fantastic though. The sandwich is made with bell peppers, onions, and roasted feta cheese. Though, I may have used it was Italian baked tofu in this pic because I ran out of cheese. Delicious either way though! As always, let me know if you want the recipe!
Donkeys! There is this huge main road that has a field of donkeys next to it that we always look for. Well, we happened to come up on the back side of the field yesterday and the donkeys were right there! Couldn't help myself :) So cute!
You know, it isn't that I don't go anywhere, I just find it very awkward to take pictures in stores or something. So...pictures of food instead, lol.

Well, I didn't post to vox about the inauguration, but I'm sure you all know how excited, happy, and hopeful about the entire thing, the entire future. I'm so glad the day went so well, you have no idea how scared I was that something awful was going to happen. But it didn't. It was a wonderful day :) Ohh, I'm still all giddy about it. I really hope the spirit of unity and hope can last and I hope the people that didnt' vote for him can give him a chance since they can't change it. And please, remind me I said that next time someone I vote for doesn't win.
President Obama's First Day
Already hard at work. Also glad they paused some of the last minute regulations Bush tried to push out in his last few days.
Judge Okays 1st suspension in Gitmo trials
I think it is healthy to review the justice system in situations like Gitmo, but I can't help but wonder what will happen. Where will they put them all? Will they ever actually be able to have a fair trial during war?

Mmmm, baked some delicious Apple Cheesecake bars from a baking book I just bought. I really don't like cheesecake in general, but these were AMAZING. Mmmmm, delicious. I'll post the recipe when I get time :)
My sister had a little trip planned for us on Tuesday, she wouldn't tell us where. It ended up being way out in the middle-of-nowhere, ugliest area of Texas ever. But, it was pretty awesome :) The area is known for its dinosaur tracks and fossils, etc, but a new little 'park just opened up that had a ton of life size dinosaur sculptures out on a trail. I think we all had a lot of fun. I'll share more pics in its own post! Oh, also out there, scarily enough....A Creation Evidence Museum. I almost wanted to go in, just to see what the 'evidence' was....but I was too scared. I got a pic of the sign though.
Well, that is it for now. Have a great post inauguration day everyone!

Shame on me, I missed the 14th
We went to the most amazing yarn store. I'd been there before with my sister, but I don't knit or anything, so I usually just look around and wish I could knit all the beautiful things that I see. Well, this time I had brought a patter with me in the hopes that I'll be able to knit on the car ride to Massachusetts whenever we head up there. Here is the yarn that I got for the Russian Princess hat. To keep me warm in the cold New England winters. It better turn out, the yarn was expensive.
This is my storage shed. I had to look for my blow up mattress and a few other things. Things fell out on me when I opened the door. And it would have been quite a sight to see me crawling over tables and jumped over things to get inside. In a funny-that-is-so-dangerous sort of way.
That's all for now.

Yes...you see it right. I'm packing....AGAIN. Hopefully sometime in the future I'll have a place that I'll be at for a while that can hold all my stuff. As it is, my life must fit in the back of a CRV that I'm sharing with my mom and 2 cats. I have a LOT of clothes people. I don't know how I'll fit them all.
I keep forgetting to take pictures, I'm bad at this. Actually, I feel awkward taking pictures in public of just totally random places or in stores...Therefore, this picture of my dinner is the only picture I had taken this day. A nice indian meal, some beans and palak paneer. Took me friggin ages to cook. And I didn't have all the ingredients, so it could have been better. If anyone wants the recipes, let me know and I'll post them!
Once again, forgot to take pics, so this is all I had. I took a picture of this hair piece I got way back in China so that I could ask a LJ community how the hell I'm supposed to wear it. I've been trying to get it to work for years and it is surprisingly simple, actually.

That's it for now.
Well, this first picture is of something I made for my parents for Christmas, but I'm counting it for my Project 365 since it was the only picture I took that day.

This is a pillow that I made for my sister....who likes peacocks, obviously. It sort of took me a while to applique all that fabric, but I enjoyed making it. Got to use up some of the metallic thread I had in my stash as well. I really like this pillow :) So, made with a bunch of different types of fabrics, machine appliqued with metallic thread, and some beading stitched on. Not terribly useful as a pillow, but decorative!
That's all for today! My parent's house is being shown by some real estate person today, so I have to clean up a bit and then get out of the house by 10:30. Plenty of time :) Maybe they'll sell the house so that they can move up to Massachusetts. Not that I mind being by myself up there, but having any furniture at all will be nice.

I just dyed my hair the day before. I couldn't get a good picture of the colour. It is still as dark as it was, but has much more of a red tint to it now...but maybe not as red as the picture....In any case, I like it :)

First one is my sister and I, the second is a pic of the boardwalk thing at the safari exhibit. Second are giraffes, then a zebra family (BABY!!). A few kind of creepy goats that you can feed, and last is a pic of an awesome painted trashcan :P
That's all for now!
I'm doing really poorly on this already. The few times I've gone out, I've forgotten to take pictures. How sad is that?
Anyway, here are my boring pics
My cat took over the 'studio' where I was taking pictures of dolls to put up online to sell. That's what he gets. Totally didn't phase him though.
My other cat gets in the way of my mom going through and labeling the boxes of doll clothes. I vaguely remember doing something else this day, but maybe it was just grocery shopping :P
I actually should have taken a picture of the awesome English Breakfast I made. But I didn't. Maybe it is better to log what has taken up my most of my days since Monday....Anyone want to guess? Yea, SGA marathon. Normally I wouldn't watch this much, especially since I have it on DVD and could watch it anytime without commercials, but my mom wanted it on.
It does give me a reason to sit down and work on putting a few of the dolls online.
Another day where I actually went out. I went to the doctor's, went to bagels for breakfast afterward, wandered around Walmart for an hour because they hadn't done my prescription....boring things, but it was out of the house. But I forgot to take pics. So,I took a picture when I went out on a walk in my neighborhood when I was going to go crazy from being inside. I noticed this a few weeks ago, looks like someone buried something on the little hill going down to the pond. Very sad, but a beautiful sentiment nonetheless. I don't know if it was a dog, or a duck, or what, but it has a nice view :)
